The New Orleans Saints fans are able to rejoice in the moment of being Super Bowl champions thanks to Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees. Dish Network HD Updates : Even though the Super Bowl is days away the Indianapolis Colts are already working on signing future hall of fame quarterback Peyton Manning to a long-term contract. Manning was signed until 2012 but clauses in his contract allowed his current contract to end in 2010. But the Colts have no intentions of letting him hit the open market with the possibilities of there being no salary cap next year. The Colts are willing to make Manning the richest player in NFL history which he deserves considering that Cincinnati Bengals Carlson Palmer is the highest paid quarterback in the league. Some sports experts think his new deal will be around $20 million a year until he retires.

Just when you thought things for the 4-43 New Jersey Nets couldn’t get any worse it did, assistant head coach Del Harris just resigned after yet another tough lost. Harris was arguably the coach on the Nets staff and did all he could to try and help a team that will almost certainly go down as the worst team in NBA history.

United States World cup soccer star DeMarcus Beasley car was set on fire outside of his home in Glasgow Scotland. This was the second time someone has vandalized Beasley’s car in the last couple of years. Police still have no idea of who caused the fire, but many people feel its probably fans of cross town rival Glasgow Celtics that are to blame.

The AFC was able to outscore the NFC for a 41-34 final in Sunday nights NFL Pro Bowl game at Sun Life Stadium in Miami. The games MVP went to Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub who finished the game 13-17 189 yards and two touchdowns with the first touchdown going to Texans teammate Andre Johnson. This was the first time the game has not been held in Hawaii since 1980 where it will return next year.

Kobe Bryant just became the LA Lakers all time leading scorer last night in a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies 95-93. Bryant 44 points last night gave him 25,208 career points and he is now currently 16 points ahead of Jerry West who was the Franchise leader.

This would have been one of the top boxing rematches of all time ten years ago but now it’s just two boxers trying to hold on too their glory days. Boxing greats 45 year old Bernard Hopkins (50-5-1 with 32 knockouts) will be taking on 41 year old Roy Jones Jr (54-6 with 40 knockouts) in Vegas on April 3rd. The two last fought in 1993 with Jones wining by a unanimous decision.

It’s official Kurt Warner QB for the Arizona Cardinals has just retired after 12 great years in the NFL. Warner was always one of the top professional NFL players on and off the field and spent a lot of his time during the off-season helping out with different charities. During his career Warner won two MVP awards, went to the Pro bowl 5 times and won the Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams early in his career. Even though he had 2 years and $23 million left on his contract, he felt this was the perfect time for him to walk away from the game. read more »

NBA league commissioner David stern has suspended Washington Wizards players Gilbert Arenas, and Javaris Crittenton for the remainder of the season. The two players were the ones involved in the gun incident at the team locker room that started with an argument over playing cards while flying back from an away game. read more »

Suspended guard Gilbert Arenas of the Washington Wizards is set to meet with NBA commissioner David Stern today to discuss his future. Arenas got into a fight with teammate Javaris Crittenton on a flight back from a game, after the fight escalated to both players bringing unloaded guns into the teams locker room and another heated argument broke out. Arenas had just signed a contract extension in the summer that has four years left for $111 million, which his team now wants to void.

On Monday the unbeaten Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team moved into 1st place of the college basketball polls, and on Tuesday they moved out after losing to South Carolina. Even though the rankings will not reset until next Monday Kentucky only lasted a day and a half as the number one team in the country. Kentucky finally showed that they are a really young team when it came down to the wire. South Carolina played a perfect game and got an impressive 30-point performance from 5’9 Devan Downey who was able to create his own shot whenever he wanted. The Wildcats highly touted freshman John Wall who many feels will be the first pick in the NBA draft finished with 19 points in the 68-62 loss. read more »

The Dish on HD Sports News.. Last night featured a match up of two of the players in the NBA the Cleveland Cavaliers Lebron James and Miami Heats Dwayne Wade. The game lived up to all the hype with Wade scoring 30 points in the first half and Lebron scoring 22. The game continued to be back and fourth throughout the rest of the game with the Heat winning by 1 point with four seconds left. But after James stole the ball from Wade and was going up for a lay up he was fouled and sent to the free throw line where he made both giving his team a one point lead. With the game on the line Wade got the last shot for the win but good defense by James caused Wade to miss shot as time expired for a final score of 92-91. read more »

Richard Branson who owns more than 360 companies through his Virgin Brand plans on Space Flight . The space shuttle brand is known as Virgin Galactic and the shuttle itself is called Spaceship Two. The chartered shuttle will be taking off from its newly designed airstrip in New Mexico, which is different from the hangar in Mojave, California that Branson opened up yesterday for people interested in the journey to space. So far 300 people have put down the required $20,000 deposit for a chance to be one of the first people to take a chartered flight into space and another 80,000 are on the waiting list. read more »

The Dish On HD Sports ...For the first time since 1993 both number one teams from the NFC and AFC have made it to the Super Bowl. The Indianapolis Colts were able to comeback from an 11-point deficit to win the game 30-17 despite stars Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark being shut out of the game. The New Orleans Saints were able to take down the Minnesota Vikings on a 40-yard field goal in overtime for a final score of 38-21. The Vikings had their chances to win but to many turnovers cost them the game. This years Super Bowl XLIV is looking like a high-powered event that features two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL today.
